Not so Lucky!

No sooner did I finish my monthly banner that I make for downstairs..."LUCKY"....then I...well~ ..........here's the story! Kev and I Are certifying to scuba dive!! I sure though I was going to freeze in the Sound...but I was wrong...these things keep you warm!!
"Kev and I and one of our instructors...Israel" We had done our 2 dives and had taken our 1 hour surface interval then headed back down to the water. All geared up and ready for our 3rd dive...and we were going down to the pipe line and to see the octupus...soooo exciting! We had some logs to step over which were embedded in the sand....I didn't have my glasses on...mask and fins in both hands, when I thought I stepped over the log...must not have lifted my leg high enough (heavy weights and tank).
Next thing I know...I was smashing into this huge log...FACE first!!
I thought I was dead at first...it hurt soooooooo dang bad!! But when I saw blood dripping and felt with my tongue to see if all my teeth were still in my mouth...I realized what had just happened! This wasn't good...and there would be NO 3rd dive today...dang it!!!

While waiting for the ambulance...my sweet husband did a great job keeping me conscious, I just wanted the pressure to go away...and to die at that moment would have felt much better!! ha ha~not a good idea really...but I never remember a time in my life where I hurt that bad!!

I have a GREAT appreciation for EMT's...even more so than I ever did before...they were amazing!! They had to peel my wet suits off of me...luckily I had a suit underneath!! They sweated like crazy with the heat on full blast in the ambulance so that I could keep warm while my body was in shock and I had a wet swimsuit on....placed warm water bottles all around me to warm me up...they were so kind!!!! The one guy said..."when we get to the hospital, you can tell your husband that the ambulance guys got you all hot and bothered!!" lol...I so had wished I could have laughed...he was cracking me up!!

This is Kevin taking a photo of the ambulance while following me to the hospital...he thought...,"she's gonna want a picture of this later"!

And I think he was so releaved to have me being taken care of! He was a mess that day!! Naturally...I would have been much worse had it been him that had fallen!!
So to make a long story short...after 6 hours in the ER...a broken nose in several places, 30 stitches to my face...torn ligaments in my left foot....I was able to go home!!And let the healing begin!! This is day 3 after my CRASH...and the bruising got much worse as you can imagine... We had a friend come into town a week later...so I had some covering up to do!! Amazing what make-up and my glasses can do to hide the MESS!!

7 days later!
And..,I am SO grateful for my sweet husband, kids and friends who helped me heal...I truly had administering angels watching over me!! When our instructors came to the house a few days later... I was so grateful that I had hit where I did! They said I hit this HUGE bump on the log that stuck up....it so could have been my eye or all my teeth...whew!!
Definately a blessing!
Now after 3 weeks, we are finally taking our last 2 dives to certify! Then Maui on the 23rd to dive in the tropical waters with the beautiful things in their waters!!
I just can't even imagine what it's going to be like swimming with turtles and all those beautiful colored fish!! CAN'T wait!!

Hello Again!

I almost fell off the face of the blogger world...but decided it is sooo worth it to record memories within our little Family...especially when your drive that alot of your photo's was on...crashes!! Ya...about 6 months of photo's just vanished!!! BUT LESSON LEARNED!!! Back-up....back-up...upload somewhere...just in case...no need to print just yet...but ALWAYS upload so they are accesable when needed! And also I need to continue to blog...becuase a few of the photo's which I lost are also availabe on my blog...hooray! Hence the reason to continue to blog ~ whew!

On another note, it's hard to believe that my Sis Kathy has been gone for a year now (March 7th) Instead of grieving on Sunday, I decided to celebrate her life by remembering that NOW I can do her Temple work for her since it has been a year....YAY!! Along with my Mother's...,time to get to geneology!!!
Kathy at the top of the mountain she climbed....she LOVED the outdoors!!! I LOVE her!!
These Cherry Blossom Trees are in full bloom and BEAUTIFUL as you drive down the street!!! BUT....they are making Tanner and I very misserable!!! Allergy wise! I had to get a shot last week, and may have to take Tan in to get some Zyrtec for his.....I hate having allergy's!! And speaking of Tanner....His last practice and basketball game are this week! Seems like a short season ~ But, The minor league tryouts are this weekend as well for baseball....one sport to the next!! And he's signed up for soccer camp the end of June!! His first camp!
Remember my valentine tree? Well now it's a St. Patty's Tree!! This felt thing has become an obcession with me...along with making felt food, quilting, scrapbooking, making cards, banners....so much I want to do...so little time!!!

Also...remember when I bought this fabric? WELL, IT'S DONE!!!

And I love it!! It's soooo soft, the black on the back is flannel....This one has to be one of my favorites!!! And while the coloring isn't the best in this photo below, you can see the pretty stitch on the back!!! LOVE it!!

Bye for now!

Valentines

I'm not much of a decorator when it comes to valentines, but when I saw these adorable primitive hearts at my friend Laura's house....I needed to have some too! So I got busy stitchin'! They are so fun to make....I love hand sewing! I've also been on a "felt food" frenzy...just got a whole ton of patterns (THANKS TREEN!) ....enough to last a lifetime of sewing!! Gramma needs some play food when the grandkids come to play right?!

And how cute are they hangin' on this tree!?
Happy Valentines Day!!

Monster Trucks!!

This has to be one of our favorite parts of having the holidays over with!!! It's tradition that we see the Monster Trucks at the Tacoma Dome every January! And it's fabulous every year...this year was NO exception!! Last Year the Grave Diggger was everyone's favorite....but this year...we changed our minds ~This truck was our all time favorite this year!! Tough truck!! We got Pit passes, so we were able to check out the trucks before the show...that was a first ~ pretty cool too!
Tanner liked the driver of the Batman truck too!!
Especially when he blew fire out the back just before a race!!!

Pictures of these things just look like a little toy truck...that is until you put a kid in front!! Massive!!

This truck was actually the winner of the Monster trucks!
My favorite this year though was the motorcross!! Those motorcyclists were intense!!! Jump after jump, tricks galore and total amazement on my part!! Loved it!!
The good ole Grave Digger always ends up on the top of the jump, and stops for some cheers from the crowd!! A definate crowd pleaser!
We love Kevin for taking us every year...we enjoy every minute of it!!
It used to be Kevin, Ryan and Darin that went every year...this tradition will never die!!

December...gone already?!

Can't believe it went so fast!! We had a wondeful Christmas!! I love spending time with my Family....crazy as we are and all!!! We even made it up to the snow while the girls were here! The snow wasn't ideal...but we made it work! Kaylee and Shaylin were here for 6 days....and we crammed in all we could!!
Their favorite part of the snow....warming up by the fire at our friend Bill's cabin!

Makin' sugar cookies and dancin to Mama Mia! This may be a great blackmail picture in the future!!! Pretty cooperative little brother here!!
It seemed the wrapping would never end!!!
I think we made 3 batches of caramels this year....ADDICTING!!

"Me and Kev"
So nice to have a sweet husband to share the holidays with!!
Then....a great way to end our Christmas vacation....PEDICURES!! sigh ~ soooo nice!
I put all the decorations away...so 2010 is here and goin- ready or not!!
I just got notified that I was chosen to be on a design team for a local scrapbook store!! Yahoo!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

And these 2 sweet daughters of mine drove from Utah just to be with us for The big day!! So glad they were here....it's always funner with a house full...and you can NEVER go wrong with daughters around!!!
Love them!!! Tanner wanted to see how heavy a turkey could be anyway....it's heavy he says!!! A 20 pounder!
We tried cooking it in a roaster Kev bought me that morning...I don't think I allowed enough time for it to cook...it didn't seem to cook as fast as the oven...but then again I didn't have any experience with it either...I will cook in it again and get used to it!! I want to try another turkey!!
And we all made these little turkeys to put on our tables beside each plate....but, we forgot to put them out!!! So they sat on the window seal to dry and look pretty!! Fun to make anyways!
Since Kaylee and Shaylin were here....we just had to get our Christmas tree that weekend too! We went to The Red Barn Tree Farm...I love that place for some reason!! Sure was nice to have the kids together for some photo's too!!!
We were soooooo productive that Saturday!!! We all got ready and went and got our tree....
I took everyone in to vote for my design team entrys...decorated the tree, put up our Christmas decorations, Kev put the outside lights up ( had a fall off the ladder, but luckily he didn't get hurt too bad!), Kaylee made us swiss steak for dinner....so nice to have someone cook in my kitchen....so delicious too!

Shaylin helped me with the lights on the tree while Kaylee made dinner...I swear there are 20 strands of lights on this tree! It took a LONG time this year it seemed! Nice to have it all up all month!! I love this time of year! I am trying to savour the season by celebrating everyday...and making it memorable!! Kaylee and Shaylin come back on the 23rd!! Wahoo!!!! More fun to be had!! I haven't played Rummikub since they left...the game is here waiting for them to return!!!
