My sweet Sister Kathy was killed in a tragic car accident at 5:30 pm today. Very SAD day! She will be missed terribly! We are SO grateful for the wonderful memories SHE took the time to come to Puyallup to make with our Family! We do feel a bit cheated not to have had more time with her, but feel blessed to have had the time we did have! She is fun...giving, compassionate, understanding, and was always a wonderful Sister to me!!
She was 49 years old. She was a Registered Nurse, and the last 13 years has dedicated her life as a volunteer in MANY capacities. She was a RN Volunteer for the Lincoln and Omaha Medical Reserve Corps, where she served with the US Public Health Service after Hurricane Katrina in Lafayette, LA. She was a volunteer for American Red Cross, The Lincoln Regional Center, The Child Advocacy Center, Friendship Home, Rape Spouse Abuse Crisis Center and the Nebraska Nurses Assoc. She volunteered at Weminuche Wilderness, in the Colorado National Forest Service, and most recently before her death, in the Redwood National Forest. She loved her volunteer work, especially the Redwoods! My Sister loved the physical labor involved in any form of outdoor work....even though she was only a volunteer! She is amazing, and she will always be in our hearts and has made a HUGE impression in our lives!! I love you Sis!!

I'm so glad I got to know Aunt Kathy.. You'd never know just by looking at her how much fun she would be and how silly she was!! She'll never be forgotten, that's for sure. Love you Mother.. Sorry we couldn't have been home for you when this happened.
